Wear something pink!

a note from zoe

Hi everybody,

I'm based in Brunei and was diagnosed with breast cancer in June. Breast Cancer Now have been so helpful to me since my diagnosis. I've joined their online community and used their helpline to speak to breast care nurses. Even though my medical team here in Brunei is great it's very comforting being able to connect with people in my home country as well, especially during this pandemic when my sister and other family and friends aren't able to visit. All of these services are provided free to the user and they, like everyone else, have been hit by Covid so I'd like to be able help out and give something back.

I hope this fundraising event will bring everyone together online, for my friends and family around the globe. I aim to raise awareness through this event so that others can potentially avoid this nasty illness, and also show people a way that they can help.

Do I need a separate booking if I'm practising with my housemate/spouse?

We're more than happy for you to join with a housemate, spouse or fur baby but if you're joining us as a group (more than 3 people) we ask that you contact us and purchase a group pass. We also offer private group sessions for your company or organisation. Get in touch for more details.

Do I need to have my mic and camera on?

No. All mics will be muted by the teacher during the practice to avoid disctraction, so feel free to laugh, chat, cry or play music during your practice. Before and after the class please feel free to turn on your mic to chat to the teacher and fellow students. It is up to you whether you have your camera on or not. It can feel nice and contribute to the 'community' feel by practising with your camera on, but if you enjoy the privacy or have a busy household and and would rather keep the camera off, that is also fine. Please note that if you do have your camera on, spend a few moments finding the best place for it, keep the light or window in front of you or you'll be a shadow, and position it away from you, so we can see you in standing and lying down postures.

How early can I come to the class?

The Zoom room will be open 15 minutes before the start of every class. Please feel free to join us early to say hi, let us know how you're feeling today and about any issues, questions or requests!

What style of yoga are the classes?

Our classes are gentle and rejuvenating. They can be described as Hatha classes, but that means so many different things to so many different people. So join us without expectation. Through classical yoga asana, the classes will help you to build strength and balance in body and mind, while offering you the opportunity to release and let go of that which no longer serves you. You will cultivate stillness and ease by connecting to the body through the breath. All classes are open to all abilities and levels. We advise you to listen to your body and adopt the appropriate variations that feel right to you.

Which countries can I join from?

Through the power of the internet you can join from any country. All of our payments are currently processed by Stripe who accept card payments from 135+ countries. The schedule is displayed in BST (GMT+1) and the prices in GBP. Please follow these links to check the time and price in your country.

My internet connection isn't great, will I be able to join?

We stream all of our classes via Zoom who will alter the quality of the stream dependant on your internet connection. For example, if you have a good connection you will receive a HD quality image and great audio. If your internet isn't brilliant you will get a reduced quality image but it should still be good enough to participate fully. We recommend an internet connection of at least 1mb/s. You can check the speed of your connection here.
